Red face HRT Trouble

Hi guys!

me: 49 yrs old,
orig test level = 380 - had lots of issues with no libido and no energy and bouts of depression/stupid emotional stresses.
started my first test-c cycle and feel great

BUT!

I thought it a good idea to try and see it a HRT would work for me - it worked great and is still working great for everything except libido -

problem = my libido is dieing off and its hard to get an erection even when i am horny

This is my first time and I have been doing test-c for 7 weeks now at 100mg - 125mg every 7 days (shots on sunday nights). I am doing this on my own since i could not find a doctor to help me, they said my test level was fine and i disagree with that. I used to be a boxer and did a lot of amateur competition .. things have slowed down for me after i hit 40 - the test-c worked great the first few weeks ... now things seem to be going backwards .. wtf.

I posted on another forum and got good advice to start using HCG and bump up the Test-C - so here is what i am doing now:
- test-c 300-350mg / every Sunday
- hcg 250iu mon/wed/fri

I have been doing this for about 2 weeks now and i dont feel any different, am i missing something or what?

any help and advice would be so appreciated. Thank you ahead of time.

Welcome to aboard!

Though my initial thoughts would be to say to increase the test a little as well, that would be a temporary fix I'd think.
Having raised it already, it will take a few weeks to actually get the raised dose into your system (just like the waiting
period when you start a cycle). I would be curious to see if this same thing happens over time even with this raised dose.

Another option, and one you probably dont want to hear, is that you may have ED. If this is the case, relying on a
constant dose of test is not the best way to deal with it IMO. It may be worth it to see if viagra helps in the mean time
while youre waiting on the test levels to raise up again.

Yet another option could be cycle off, run PCT, and let the natural test flow a little to give yourself a break. This way
you should feel the benefits of the test again if you decide to go back on again down the road.

The doctors are probably right about the test levels, but thats not to say what youre doing is wrong. It may however just
be a temporary fix. obviously you are going to feel a million times better when you have the test level of a teenager again
while running a cycle...but its only meant to be temporary. If we were supposed to continually feel like that, we would live
in a state of never ending puberty. The HRT test dose may be helping with most of the issues you were having earlier, but
you should also try other options before committing to dosing test the rest of your life.

Depression can be remedied or at least helped in many many ways including altering your environment and causes, changing
your diet, a new gym routine, a new hobby.....basically just limiting the causes and finding new types of enjoyment. Energy
levels can similarly be effected with all these. You'd be amazed at how just diet alone can alter your mood and energy levels.

Pureguy, this is my opinion on your situation take it for what it's worth.
Since I have been on HRT for several years, trust me when I tell you that if you want go that route, you will be on it for the long haul. PERMENTELY. It's not a bad thing if you really do need it, but at the very least keep it monitored with bloods. Your dosing is very important and needs to be kept in check. 350 mg/week would put my levels around 1400 whic is far from the recommened range of 500-700. BTW this is a measurement of free testorone and the range will differ according to age.
I am certain your levels are through the roof @ 3oo-350mg/week, I only run just over 125 mg/week and that puts my levels at 650.
Hcg is a waste if you are cruising, on cycle is a different story. Your red face and loss if libido is most likely due to your high testosterone levels. Remember, high test =elevated BP and increased estrogen production. High estrogen WILL affect your libido.

Do yourself a favor and get bloods done and do it right, not something you want to experiment with in your own. There are private labs where you can get bloods from for around $60 and its worth every penny.

Hey milkin, thank you a lot for advice.

On the 5th of August - i got a blood draw for a full panel of checks .. the Urologist i am seeing doesnt mind doing blood work and routine stuff like that. The blood work was completed yesterday and I have a scheduled phone call with him today sometime (his office is a 2hr drive away - so we do phone visits mostly).

Will keep you guys posted - i hope my experience can help others avoid the crap i went through. I tried to educate myself before i did anything. Oh well - live and learn.

Super Pureguy, please do keep us updated on your research since member feedback is such a valuable tool in helping others with their own research.
I was just thinking of this conversation this morning and had more to add, I will posting more on this topic sometime today, schedule permitting, along with some bloods that I managed to dig up to help assist.
