Words of Wisdom to Sources

MG has many creditable and well respected sources. Those sources are the ones that receive most of the business from MG's active membership.

If you are a new source or an old source looking to gain popularity and more business your goal should be to gain business from the active membership base.

Posting reviews from non-active members or fan boy lurkers is not going to serve it's intended purpose.

We want you to be successful but doing business on MG is not the same as doing business elsewhere. You need to gain our trust and respect not expect it. ;)

The same goes for new members looking for sources. Always look for an avatar, and the karma and activity level of the members leaving reviews on a sources si page. One or two reviews from active and respected members far outweighs 100 reviews from no avatar low karma inactive members.

Good points

I believe i just told a source the same exact thing , your sending 0 karma , 0 activity , fanboys to leave reviews. That add up to ,,actually hurting your creditabilty rather than building it ..

Ppl are head strong , i guess and think i have nothing better to do , i actually walked sources teying to build threw all this ...then the next day 6 fanboy reviews ...i told them the same thing sf.

You need to gain our respected members trust. , but hey so is the game i guess ... the hammer falls quicker than all the time spent to nuthugging. , i know after a hard days work. THESE NUTS !!!!!!!!

I just pissed myself im laughing so hard. Idk why my pitt looking at me like im crazy. Im crying and alll.

I had to say that. These nits are chessy yet fan boys will endure the odor. It reminds me of that dude. Saying these nuts. Dont ask where im going with this. Lmao. I need this laugh. I do

It does serve the purpose of getting a source moved up on our rankings, and when high ranking sources have reviews from members that use stolen pictures.... well that just cuts into the credibility of our community. I encourage those sources that use fake accounts to move up the rankings to find legitimate ways to do it. We may not be able to vote on free gear, but you can give heavy discounts and promos and still get votes.

Quit bullshitting us so blatantly and earn your spot in the rankings.

Maybe a source ranking system revision is in order to make MG stand apart from the crowd.

Any ideas?

Although inactive members can't star vote the total number of reviews does impact the score, so yes on a small scale they do impact a sources score.

Source A can have 5 5 star reviews and 100 total reviews. Source B can have 5 5 star reviews and 85 total reviews. Source A will be a couple of tenths in points higher than source B.

I edited my original post Dolf because I realized the error the minute I hit save.

I believe I noted before in an older forum, but when evaluating a source, you need to also evaluate who is doing the "reviews" of the source. When you see a lot of reviews from new members or members with very low Karma numbers, I am always very suspicious as it looks like there is more than meets the eye (not good) and I will typically pass on that source until I see a substantial number of veteran members of a site provide positive reviews. It seems like common sense to me......
