Hips and Lying Leg Curls

Does anyone else get sore hips or bruises from driving their hips into the pad when doing lying leg curls? I really focus on pushing my hips as far forward as I can and pointing my toes down away from me to take the quad out of the movement. I'm also doing a very slow and controlled negative on almost all of my exercises.

I haven't experienced any bruising doing the lying curls and tbh, by the time I hit that machine my legs are sore already. Slow and controlled negatives are great, but I don't think your hips should be sore or bruised from it. Is the padding worn or wearing down on the equipment?

The machine is actually pretty new so maybe it's just not broken in yet. I do them pretty early on in my workout too so my legs are fresh.
