Zopiclone is a medicine for people who have trouble sleeping, a condition called insomnia. It’s a type of sleeping pill that works by helping you fall asleep faster, stay asleep longer, and wake up fewer times during the night. It starts working pretty quickly, usually within about an hour.
Zopiclone does its job by acting on a part of your brain called the GABAA receptor. It boosts the effects of a natural chemical in your brain called gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), which helps calm things down and make you feel sleepy.
