told you. and do not be afraid of a bit of fat gains. as long as you know how to cut it later.
Yeah for the winter I wouldn't mind a bit of fat. Help stop me from being so fucking cold all the time.
But now that I'm actually putting on weight again and my strength is climbing like crazy I'm going to focus on my biceps, lats and traps as well as focusing on my squat bench and deadlift.
I'm not far off from hitting my strength goals already. Only 4 weeks into my powerlifting style and I've benched 225 for 5 good clean slow controlled reps. Only looking for a max of 275.
I've deadlifted 325 for 6. Only looking for 400lbs once. And I just did 225 on squat for 8 reps. Knew I had plenty more but wasn't trying to go crazy. Looking for 325lb once.
I know I could do more of all of these, but I'm just going slow and working up a little bit at time. not sacrificing form or depth. I'm going slow and leaving plenty in the tank for 2 reasons... One.. I DO NOT WANT TO GET HURT! and 2 I workout in my bedroom. so bailing on a 300lb squat really isn't an option. And if I drop a 400lb deadlift from hip height... It would probably end up in my basement!
So since I'm already crushing my strength goals I'm going to try really hard and turn my 3 biggest weaknesses into my strengths. Biceps, traps and lats.
Biceps are still only 16" and really want 17.5-18"
My last have grown but not nearly enough to be satisfied. And of course my traps... Again they have grown but they do not match my shoulders. Way underdeveloped by comparison.
Just laid out a new trap exercise I'm actually going to try for the first time today. Finally trying a science backed approach instead of a bro science approach.
So hopefully with my new found ability to grow again I can put that size where I want it.
