I keep seeing this bullshit... I've had enough. This ego lifting nonsense
We talked about this earlier... I finally found the biggest fail yet.
He's wearing a slingshot.. what looks like 20 maybe 25 bands hanging from the rack.. and of course chains... because why wouldn't you have chains?
I'm sorry but this is the dumbest shit I've ever seen

Is that even a real thing? I mean sure I've heard people claim to have seen it, but never met anyone claim to have done it and I've been hanging around gyms for nearly four decades and never seen anything like it with my own eyes. The worst i've ever seen personally are calf raises in the leg press and curls in the squat rack. Are these dudes real or just Internet memes?

that's seriously the biggest pile of shit in bodybuilding.
I understand using bands or whatever equipment for muscle growth, but that's not your personal record for sure.

Yes its absolutely real!
It's all over tick tock and YouTube!

Every single day I see a new post of someone claiming they hit a 900, 1,000 or 1,300lb bench press.
You click on the video and it's this bullshit.
Someone wearing slingshots and hanging bands from the ceiling.
Then claiming a new pr!
Its called a "assisted lift pr"

How much assistance doesn't seem to matter, all that matters is how much they say is on the bar.
Its becoming insanely popular... and I CAN'T FUCKING STAND IT!

Julius Madox just hit 796lb raw... no bullshit!
No bands, no slingshot.
796lb on the bar, brought it down to his chest, paused..... and put that shit up! Full range of motion... like a mother fucking man!
And its barely getting talked about. it's the heaviest bench... ever!
But all these fuck muppets are talking about are these assisted lifts. Because the numbers are higher...

I... grr... I fucking hate people!

fucking agree. that's the only real benching for PR.
I don't get bands if they help you - what is the point? Surely use less weight lol
various equipment like bands do actually have a point - help you get stronger and help you with hypertrophy, but it's surely not your personal record. It's for helping you break your personal record, but your PR is only when you're doing as Julius did. at least IMO

Yes I agree, training with bands like this can help greatly. Say you're stuck at 350 and you're biggest problem is getting it the first 2" off your chest. Then putting 350 on the bar and a few bands can be extremely beneficial while training for your pr.
But this fucking nonsense....
Putting 900lbs on the bar and 800lbs worth of bands to help you lift it... this is ego lifting nonsense!
I use bands for benching all the time... but my bands make it harder... not easier.

I use them a lot, but I don't use them to train for heavier.
Its just... different. 200lbs of plates, feels much different than 150lb of plates and 50lbs worth of bands. I'm always trying to switch things up...
YOU NEED TO SHOCK THE MUSCLE!!
