I was in antidepressants for a long time and I'm weaning weaning off them for the past while. I came off them earlier but had a bit of a breakdown. So went back in and tapered down and down. Down to a tiny dose now and can feel some side effects. Wanna be off them fully by the end of the year before I start deca.

Coming off of them slowly is definitely the way to do it.
But to do it forever you need to retrain your brain. You have to start looking for the positives in life. Finding things to be happy about. Even simple things like it's sunny out, that light turned green just in time.
Then you have to catch yourself when you start to stress and crawl into that depression. When you find those thoughts starting to happen... Instead of going down that toxic rabbit hole you have to stop yourself and change your thoughts.
What worked for me was, every time I started having those bad thoughts or was just stressing. I would yell "stop" in my mind then I would list 5 things that made me happy. Those 5 things can be anything. That feeling you had when you got the keys to your first car, that crazy BJ from that one crazy chick, a PR you're super proud of. Literally any 5 things that have or will make you happy. But don't just list them "car, bj, pr, boobs, gun"
Really think about and relive that moment or goal in detail.
When you're done you will feel better.
The tricky part is recognizing when you're in a bad place mentally. But once you do, "stop" and think about your list.
Now here's the beauty of it, over time you'll catch yourself faster and faster into those bad thoughts. So instead of 3hrs in it will be 2hrs, 1hr, 30 minutes, 3 minutes... And eventually your brain will just start making the list of things you're happy about. You'll skip the bad thoughts entirely.
I know this sounds crazy but it works! It worked for me. I struggled with depression and anxiety for years. My depression got really... Really bad. To the point where my only comforting thought was "well I could always just do it tonight so I don't have to deal with this tomorrow"
But luckily my amazing fiancee helped me just enough to get motivated. I then when on a hunt on how to get stronger not only physically but mentally.
I wish I could remember the article I read explaining this process in better detail.
But the big selling point of it to me was they explained it like reps for your brain. Just like lifting weights the more you do it the better you will get, the stronger you will get.

It really changed my life... While I still have anxiety from time to time, it's over normal shit and lasts for seconds.

good luck brother. those little fuckers can most likely fuck your life and really hope you're going to get off them, regardless if you go cold turkey or taper off. not a medic here, but I know that it depends on the type of antidepressants you're on when it comes to stopping them. also, I assume you get them from a doctor?

That's fantastic advice dude and I seriously appreciate it. I will definitely adopt those thoughts and put them into practice like you suggest. Learn to be the boss of my own mind. Yes they were doctor medicated, and now I feel like it was just an easy way for the doc to move onto the next patient. Particularly after doing my research into testosterone and finding out how low mine actually was, again which the doctor never even mentioned or even tested for which I think is absolutely crazy.


But this is why I like this site. Guys like you guys are genuine and understand how things can affect us and always willing to give good advice.

I fucking hate doctors... Especially when you find out most antidepressants are only supposed to be used for months. Not years.

Id say about 6 months in id find myself just listing things that made me feel better. Then id kinda chuckle to myself like... I guess it's working.
The other thing is trying to focus on the positive in every situation.
In 99% of situations there's a positive and negative.
My ex was super negative all the time. She could hit $1,000 on a lottery ticket and complain about having to pay the tax.
I've learned to focus on the positive... Fired, well that means a new better job is around the corner. Broke your jerking hand... Well finally have a chance to become a switch hitter.
Sometimes the positives are right there in your face while others you have to wait and search for.
I hope this makes sense but...
If all you look for is the negative, that's all you're going to find!
Since I've started looking for and celebrating the positives my life is... Fuckin as close to perfect as I can ever imagine.

i completely agree. and it is very easy to see that you've actually made a lot of progress. check your before and after pics. many will say steroids and the fact that you could boost your T levels with their help. yes, this helps, no doubt. but it is the mindset change the one that actually brings you these results.

Going into my 4th year of working out again.
The first year and a half I was natural.
I started working on my mindset way before I started gear. I really didn't want to swap pills for needles so to speak. Or have to deal with the wild emotional mood swings that come with gear in that weakened state. If that dude on the left started blasting test, tren and mast... Nothing good would have come from it. Or having so many sources (not the good ones on here) telling me they have oxy and Xanax. I definitely wasn't strong enough for that shit!
While lifting and gear definitely gave me my swagger back (I mean just look at me 🤣🤣)
Spending the time to understand my brain and putting in the work to make it a nicer place to be helped more than anything.
Having peace of mind everyday... God damn that's hard to beat

Even looking at the two pics of me. October 22 vs November 24. Definitely can see the difference in muscle and shape. Only a couple of kgs difference in bodyweight between the two. October 22 was 18 months before I started test and I couldn't shift the belly, no matter how clean I was keeping my diet. But gotta take positives away from it. Even with very low testosterone I managed descent numbers in comp.

Had a bit of a break yesterday. Mood has started to come back and I was getting bad leg pains and itching. Think it's the last of the withdrawals. Still on the tiny amount which I'll start spacing out till I can just be finished. Setting a goal of January 2025 to be taking no ssri tabs and just enjoy the lifting and life again.

That's a hell of a difference brother!
And I would look up some brain health supplements. Nootropics can help fill in that gap. Help stabilize mood and help with brain fog. I usually don't push vitamins or supplements, but I have to say alpha brain did help me quite a bit and there was some mushroom one that really helped boost my mood.

Ive actually started reading too......was never into it nor have I ever read a book in full before .......but now I have gotten into it and letting my imagination go when I'm reading. Definitely helps especially with all the crap on TV and social media.

Yeah it's crazy my thirst for knowledge never started until my mid 20s. I hated school... And I did the bare minimum. My entire highschool career I never did homework, a book report... I usually had my girlfriends do my shit.
While I still don't read, I do lots of research and learning. I can look up and read facts about the universe and shit... But to open and read a book like... Moby Dick... No fucking way. Thankfully books on tape are a thing. And if I'm not listening to books on tape I'm usually listening to a podcast.

I hated school..... bullied from the day I started to the day I left. Never wanted to be there. Finished at 17, no work for a couple of years and ended up working in a factory for 11. Place shut down and at 30 I started a mechanic apprenticeship. And loved every minute of learning from on the job to the college learning. Was a bit strange in college since most were at least 10 years younger than me lol. But it's different when your learning something you want to learn and enjoy doing.

Apart from all that......my deca and my stock of test arrived today. It's been 4 weeks since I stopped the 20mg anavar. So was thinking maybe starting the deca next week at 50mg/week and see how it goes. Add anavar in about 6 weeks after

keep in mind deca will work after 4-6 weeks of use, especially with such a low dosage

Been doing some research and the most common seems to be a 2:1 ratio with test. So since I'm on 200 test a week I would be in 100 deca.
ratio can be 1.5:1 (at least). but you can use higher T dosages if necessary. this means that if you want to then you can use 50 deca with 200 test. however, 100 deca is can still be good enough. just make sure to have bloodwork at about 8 week mark and confirm everything is fine if you use this dosage as a cruise
